Thanks Mike
I learned this from listening to Joe Derrane and Jerry O'Brien, my take being simplified.

I'm not sure if this is Irish or Scottish - but it's a good tune - and it's a march!

Hi Chris,,

I couldn't think what to play for this month's theme and then it came to me - The Weaver's March and The Quaker. I think this is the first tune 'set' I ever learnt. I learnt the tunes by listening to Tony Hall's brilliant Fieldvole Music record when I got my first pokerwork all those years ago.  Played (as is the original, I think) on a CF box.  I didn't have one of those back then so it must have taken me ages to 'get' the tunes from listening to the LP.

Here's a march I learnt from the Thomas Watts manuscript, a collection of dance tunes, songs & psalmody from the Peak District of Derbyshire. Both Thomas Watts and David Pearson are thought to have been innkeepers from the area. The manuscript was prepared for publication by Jenny Coxon, Tony Coxon, John Harrison, Brian Peters and Paul Walker; published by INWAC, Staincross, Barnsley. It makes a fascinating read.
