So a "quart box", then - and a one-row would be a pint box. I'll have a one-row, thanks!

But since we say D/G box (outside first, then inside row) the relationship from outside to inside is a fourth so they would say it's a fourth.

But, being English, we play mainly on the G row and only occasionally venture into D so G is our home and the exotic D is a Fifth away  ;)

To avoid all this confusion we should just play semi-tone boxes which are a semitone apart regardless of direction  :|glug :||:

Or you could say it was an 11 semi-tone box  >:E

Yeah, from the outside row to the inside row you're going up a fourth in pitch. From the inside row to the outside row you're going down a fifth in pitch. But since we say D/G box (outside first, then inside row) the relationship from outside to inside is a fourth so they would say it's a fourth.
I hate to be pedantic, but that isn't quite true: the interval is the same whichever direction you go. The confusion lies because when you invert a 4th you get a 5th, and also because you could consider the outside row as the dominant (5th degree of the scale) of the inside row if you were inclined to think that way, but just to be fussy the interval is the interval and an inversion of the interval is by definition different. The cycle of 5ths theory is partially correct - but that is a label of the relationship not the interval. Have I just made things even less clear?

If we ignored the octaves we could call it an 11 semi-tone box. But on the semi-tone box the relationship between rows isn't 11 semi-tones, just one.

perhaps we could put the pedants ( a title I have on rare occasions had bestowed on myself) back in their box by simply referring to DG or BC - on here we all know the difference and that CF etc is included with the former and CC# with the latter etc!
