To me, they look like the ones that the argument was about the other week, with the line across the corner. (Am I remembering them correctly, anyone?)

Virtually all Italian reeds have the line across the corner.

The photo is not very well focussed so I can't say anything useful.

What did you want to know?  Maker, or grade of reed?

They look the same as the ones in my Serenellini-built Pastourelle, but that's as much as I know........

Among others, Saltarelle Pastourelle II D/G; Hohner 4-stop 1-rows in C & G; assorted Hohners; 3-voice German (?) G/C of uncertain parentage; lovely little Hlavacek 1-row Heligonka; B♭/E♭ Koch. Newly acquired G/C Hohner Viktoria. Also Fender Jazz bass, Telecaster, Stratocaster, Epiphone Sheraton, Charvel-Jackson 00-style acoustic guitar, Danelectro 12-string and other stuff..........

Impossible to give any valid information based on such grainy pictures. Try and post high resolution angled close-up of 1 reed, if possible also of rivet alone. If it is Italian hand made ("a mano"), which it is most probably not, the edge of the foot (where the reed is riveted) should show a blueish colour. High-end reeds usually show the manufacturers' mark on a few (but not all) reed frames.

True, but Saltarelle are coy about revealing who makes their reeds and I've never seen a makers mark on reeds in a Saltarelle, other than a 'c' which is cast into Cagnoni bass reed plates.  My guess is that they use whichever maker gives them the best terms.

Grade really Theo . Its an older Gc bouble and I got it from you about 10 years ago .I would not expect you to remember it so many melodeons ago,The forum wont take high res as I have to edit it to comply with the upload limit.I just had it open and wondered if the reeds in the older ones were better than the latter stopped Boubles its not that important but as regards recent posts I  am trying to upgrade my knowledge in the area of reed identification . Kind regards

If it's a Bouebe then it will have machine made reeds. But, the machine made reeds in those boxes play really well, often better than some of the tipo a mano or even a mano reeds found in later Saltarelles.  It's less important to ID the type of reed than it is to simply judge the playability and sound.

I have lately had 3 Dino Baffetti D/G 2 rows to tune [we like them a bit wetter around here. being in the Welsh marches]. All have different reed makers, the oldest has the line in the corners as does the next oldest but the reeds in this one are harder and thinner than the oldest. But the youngest one has a set which had a name stamped on the 4 reed which has been roughly ground off. Funny I thought ??? any idea.

Meant to say the box with the ground off mane was a virgin. I was the first to enter so the ground reed bloke must be a factory mod..
