Getting pallets airtight on a one row 4 stopper?
TomBom:
My box was perfectly airtight - until I decided to soften the spring tension >:E .
On a Hohner single row I'd simply remove the pallets, reglue them and they should lie perfectly flat on the soundboard.
On cajun style boxes - how do you manage to get them flat?
Theo:
If all you have done is to adjust the springs then the pallets should still be lying flat. You may have gone too far is softening the springs.
tirpous:
Or could it be that the springs were strong enough to flatten ill-fitting pallets before, but not anymore ??
Theo:
That's possible. Also possible is that in handling the keyboard some of the pallet levers have bee pushed out of alignment.
boxcall:
Could I ask how you soften the springs?
These are not under the keyboard coil type, but inside the keyboard under the levers spring type? Right
