Poll: Tune of the Month for June 2017
« on: May 25, 2017, 09:20:37 AM »

Hi folks; here we are again!

This month's selection:

Eleanor Plunkett? An O'Carolan tune, here played (and posted just recently) by Roland Carson, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nad0ZqFV0E0 . Oh, and there's this video too which autoplayed when I played Roland's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfHqoJict3o - that's just lovely, isn't it?

Kennington Jig - Thanks Pete, for this suggestion; written by John Dipper - The Kennington Jig, here as played by (a very young) Jake Middleton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsw5vWkD1w0 ; Jake lives just up the road from me these days, and is making concertinas for a living - good luck to him. Here's his website, if you're interested... https://wolvertonconcertinas.com/

Here's the ABC:

Country Gardens - we've really not done this yet? Well...courtesy of Lester, here we are: http://lesters-tune-a-day.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/tune-237-english-country-gardens.html ; great tune.

The Attingham Waltz ... and finally, a tune by one of my favourite composers/players; Helena Torpy, who has a wonderful duo going with Steve Turner if you can seek them out. Here's our own  McGrooger playing a lovely version on a 2 row 8 bass box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRqBApV-gUs

Enjoy folks;

Cheers,

Clive
