I use a Roland Micro Cube RX for my FR18 - brilliant! And battery life seems to be forever  (:)
With my FR-18 I use a Micro Cube too and agree with Eric. I have an Ion Tailgater too, which is straight amplification, no guitar effects. It has two inputs and a rechargeable battery but is a bit heavier than the Micro Cube. In the newer Ion range there is a smaller version and they did one with wheels and a handle too. Think I prefer the Micro Cube sound, with most of the 'effects' switched off, just a bit of reverb. Wireless connection via a KAM KWM 1900 GB is good

Thanks, all.  Decided on the Roland, partly the build quality.  They do seem more solid.  Not having explored "amplification" I was slightly amazed at what was out there.  Also never expected to be exploring my inner rock god at a Sam Ash.
