Any idea what brand this is? Just saw advertised for GBP 75.

No, but I can tell you I've bought a few too good to be true accordions that are very effective doorstops. They can be a lot of money to restore.

It appears to be an unbranded Settimio Soprani (a sister company of Scandalli), in which case it's a good quality instrument.

It's very similar in model to this one that was recently for sale in Italy, priced at €299:

I think it has the ugliest looking grille on any accordion I've ever seen.  :o

I'd be more worried about it muting the sound myself, it's probably best taken off if you want to be heard!  ::)

Yes, that seems to be the intention, and with the lack of any openings at all over the low reeds they seem to have been especially trying to soften the sound of the low notes. Scandalli (Settimio Soprani's sister company) made a lot like that in the '50s, and the style was copied by various other firms, including Weltmeister.
