Shrinkage of images
« on: July 04, 2009, 09:25:52 AM »

Could someone please advise me. I tend to put the odd image in my posts and generally it has worked well. But trying to post a 561 x 100 fingering chart this morning, the SMF server kept minifying my image - jpeg or gif made no difference.

See   http://forum.melodeon.net/index.php/topic,1926.msg19575.html#msg19575

There may be some invisible rule about image size? If so is there a workaround?  TIA Chris Ryall

Chris, if you use the IMG tags to include an image in your post, as I think you've done here, it does seem to have a 200pixel wide limit. There are two options you could use - the first is to include the image as an attachment (2nd method in this post. However, this has a 256KB file limit for upload. The other method, since your image is already on a website, is to give a link to its URL. Of course, the image is not then immediately visible in your post.

Hope this helps,
Bill
