I've just finished preparing a list of accommodation. It is not exhaustive but it provides a good choice of hotels, B&Bs and caravan and camping sites, all within walking distance of the venue. I can't vouch personally for the quality of any of the places on the list because, for obvious reasons, I have never needed to stay in any of them, so you'll have to judge them from the information on their websites. I'll put the list on the website when we get one up and running. In the meantime, PM me with your e-mail address if you would like a copy.
Hi Bob. Thanks for organising this event. I've just sent you a pm regarding the accommodation list. Cheers, David

We now have a provisional line-up of tutors arranged for Melodeons in Wensleydale, subject to contract:
John Spiers, Mel Biggs, Issy Emeney and Steve Dumpleton (i.e. me).

We'll be publishing more details soon, along with a website link when it is ready.
In the meantime, by all means sort your accommodation if you wish but it is at your own risk. As Bob mentioned earlier, please do not try to book for the event at the moment. It's early days yet and there is still quite a bit to be organised. We will probably be opening bookings around next January.

Sigh.....
That looks like a great lineup.
Wonder if I ripped out  a page of my road atlas it might make the journey shorter?

Happily there's plenty of accommodation with free cancellation meaning it is relatively risk free.

Ann - I think you have the quotation somewhat astray. What it really should be is 'Squeeze, dammit ...... you can't beat a squeeze in Wensleydale'  ;D

We hoped to use the Wallace and Gromit connection in the advertising leaflets we are designing, but we got a firm "No!" when we asked Aardman Animations for permission to do so. Don't let this put you off the cheese, though! The Wensleydale Creamery has no connection with Aardman Animations. I shall be approaching them tomorrow in the slim hope that they might be willing to sponsor the event. However, getting money out of Dales folk is notoriously difficult - we were all born deformed, with short arms and deep pockets.  >:E

Is it too late to rename the event "Wensleydale Squeeze" ?

Formally it is now definitely 'Melodeons in Wensleydale' for business/accounting purposes but I suspect Anahata's description might well catch on colloquially! Mind you, if we didn't include the word 'melodeon' in the event title, we might get concertinas and accordions turning up. (And then where would we be?  >:E )

Just over the hill from here, there is already a Swaledale Squeeze weekend each year for concertina players. Perhaps we could organise an event specifically for squeeze boxes with leaky bellows and call it Wensleydale Wheeze - no, stop it!

I was charitably wondering if Anahata might have typo'd a 'w'
instead of 'c'  at start of t' second word?   But ... it seems not ::)

At least Steve got it right
