I've spoken to Angus, the landlord of The Fountain Hotel and he is happy for an impromptu session to take place in the backroom of the hotel on Friday afternoon. If he has a lot of diners, he uses that room as an over-spill dining area, so you wouldn't be able to start until the diners have finished and staff have had time to clear up, but the room should be available from around 3.00 pm. You would have to play it by ear for the start time and may have to wait until the room becomes available. The Fountain is the only pub in Hawes that has a separate room where you wouldn't disturb the locals and they won't disturb you. It is also the largest pub in Hawes, so I think this is your best bet. On the assumption that this would suit you best, I have booked the room from around 3.00 pm or whenever it becomes available.

We are not being charged for the room, so please patronise the bar so that the pub benefits from your presence. I probably won't be there during the afternoon because I will be organising things and greeting people down at the museum.

;D lovely, have got our cat / house sitter lined up and plan to be in Hawes lunchtime-ish so we can stroll round at leisure before heading to the Fountain  :|||: then on to the B&B

I'm also staying at the Fountain, and if Bob allows me out later in the afternoon, I'll come along for the session.

Anyone else at the Fountain?

(:) the B&B's just 7 minutes walk from the Fountain and when we told the owners we planned to be in Hawes lunchtime ish to have a wander before going to the session the lovely lady said we can park the car and drop our bags off at the B&B, even though we're not meant to arrive until teatime.
..... anyone else at Southview down Gayle Lane?  ;D

Myra and Geoff ..we might see you there at lunchtime then  (:) .. the cunning plan so far is to lunch in the cheese factory café then meander up to the Fountain for a drink and to book a table for evening meal, enjoy the session  :||: :|glug :|||: eat and stroll to the museum.

Just sent out the "welcome" email to all who have booked for "Melodeons in Wensleydale".

If anyone does not receive it in the next 10 minutes and expects that they should have, PM me, or comment on here and I'll send them an individual copy.

I'll have a spare one with me that somebody can borrow because I think I'll be too busy to spend much time in any of the workshops.  :(

Just to say well done to everybody involved in the organising and all of the tutors .
I’ve had a great weekend with great company , and I’ve learnt a lot - even if I didn’t get to play Delilah

;D ..... but your “harp” backing for the Welsh tunes made up for the lack of Delilah  :||:

It has been a wonderful weekend, so much to remember and practice ;D
