'The Brightest of Entertainers'
« on: June 27, 2017, 10:15:47 AM »

Tentative association to melodeons.  I am seeking a copy of "The Brightest of Entertainers" by Pat & Rennie Pickles.  (All about jig dolls)  I have tried EATMT but they are awaiting a revised publication which has been advertised for a couple of years now, with no new print insight.  I have also tried a number of book dealers with no success.  So I will beg, borrow or buy, if anyone can help I would be extremely grateful. :-\

Not sure where you are located, Badger, but have you tried Cecil Sharp House? They probably have a library copy.

Chris Brady has an informative site which you may have already seen. If not, well worth a look.

He might even have a spare copy of the book as I know he is into all things jig doll.

Good luck in your search.

It does seem hard to track down, but that's not the full title - which is Jig Dolls "The Brightest of Entertainers".

Most frustratingly I did find a website http://safirdogaltas.com/medal.asp?3089 where the book could have been downloaded free up until 1st June, but the domain wasn't renewed then and it's now gone...  :(

The cached page is still here http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:Qvzy2JdAHk4J:safirdogaltas.com/medal.asp%3F3089+&cd=6&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ie&client=firefox-b, but the links no longer work.  :-\
