Clive's melodeon videos: www.melodeonvideo.co.uk
« on: July 04, 2017, 08:54:59 AM »

Well, this is a vanity project to be sure.

I've taken my catalog of tune of the month youtube videos (231 of them!), imported them into wordpress, and hey presto... an indexed collection of melodeon videos is now at www.melodeonvideo.co.uk

They're indexed by tune name, so I can actually see what I've recorded, because frankly some of them I'd completely forgotten I ever played! They're also indexed a little less reliably by melodeon type and tuning (I did that automatically on keyword matching, and sometimes the keyword missed, so there are a few gaps/anomolies to get rid of when I get a chance).

I'm *considering* but not completely convinced myself to, indexing in other melodeon videos from youtube, grouped by player... Andy, Martin, Aurelien Clarenbaux, Cyrille Brotto, etc, etc. to create a rather fantastic tune/video resource. Phase 2 that one; watch this place.

Cheers,

Clive

Phew, that must have been a lot of work. Well done, and well played too.

2 tunes a month, for about 8 years :-)

The site itself is fairly straightforward to build, rather helped by a wordpress plugin that sucks youtube videos in for you - point it at a channel, go and make a nice cup of tea, come back and it's done. Wouldn't like to try that by hand!

"Wow" does not do this justice, but what else to say?  Thanks especially for providing a "by instrument" index....

Sorry Lester, I generally just get to it through your posting, and had missed (or forgotten about) the tune index.  8)

Well, you got a compliment from Mauro Garbani in the Comments.  That in itself would make my day.  Check out his channel if you haven't yet.
