testing the water
« on: July 05, 2017, 09:08:19 AM »

Before I go too far down the pricing route etc, would there be any interest in a tutorial festival type weekend for melodeons and other instruments in the North of England.

My daughter Marie works for Serco,at an ideal location which they let out, the  site. Accommodation, several sound proof conference rooms, bar restaurant etc set in private grounds with woodland walks.

This was on the cards to oraganise a couple of years ago but other things cropped up and prevented the idea progressing.

This may be overkill with Bobs event but just a thought.

Something that included a fettling workshop, and on site repairs, would be a great idea, in my book. Don't know what others think about that.

Brian, he obviously has, hence..."This may be overkill with Bobs event but just a thought."

Pete, it sounds like the perfect venue, but maybe too perfect for the non-conformist (note the lower case) types who play melodeons. Roughly, whereabouts is it?

Hi Pete.
I'm attending Hawes. I would also support your venture. The more the merrier.

Same for me. Would depend on when (especially what, if any festivals it clashed with) and cost. But in principle, yes.
