Melodeon player in "Who do you think you are"
« on: July 19, 2017, 03:34:57 PM »

So I spotted a melodeon player (was it a Tommy?) in last weeks "Who do you think you are?" The victim was a dancer (one of the judges from Stricly), who discovered one of his great Grandfathers had come from Ashton under Lyme (just down the road from me) and gone to Australia to make his fortune and had become a Clog Dancing Champion. They demo's some with a Melodeon and fiddle to provide the essential music.

Any one from that side of the world want to confess, or know the player? It was filmed in Sidney as far as I recall.

all played "lefty" with mostly an extra air button, except the Concertinas which I play the conventional way round.

I think I'm starting to get most of the notes in roughly the right order...... sometimes!
