Sidmouth melnet meeting 2017
« on: July 23, 2017, 04:39:05 PM »

Do we want a melnet meeting at Sidmouth this year? If so, I am happy to organise one again, but I have quite a heavy booked programme this year, so the only suitable times for me would be Saturday afternoon or Thursday  afternoon starting around 1.00 or 1.30 pm. I would suggest the Connaught Bar (downstairs bar) in the Rugby Club, which will be open from 1.00 pm every day during Folk Week and we could have to ourselves by prior arrangement with Rugby Club officials.

Of course, it doesn't need to be arranged to suit me. It could be at some other time, but somebody else would need to step forward to organise it.

So...
Do we want one?
If so, is Saturday or Thursday afternoon convenient?
If not, is somebody else willing to organise it?

Meet up would be good -Saturday looks better than Thursday in terms of clashes -
at least in my opinion...

I'd love to meet up, but just looking at my dancing commitments means I'll be tied up most days.
Might have to miss this one  :(

There hasn't been a huge response to the proposal to have a melnet meeting at Sidmouth, but I've arranged one anyway - so there!

It will be on Thursday 10th August at the Rugby Club in the downstairs bar (a.k.a. the Connaught Bar). The bar will be open!

If I'm sitting there on my own like Billy Nomates, playing tunes and supping cider, that's fine, but it will be even finer if some melnetters turn up to share the experience.

apologies Bob.
Just checked my schedule again and it's wall to wall dancing and processing from noon way into the afternoon.
Others will have to make more noise to make up for my no-show!
cheers

I'd like to go to "Meet Yves Lambert" also at the Rugby club at 1.30 but I'll certainly pop in.

Whoops, I forgot to include the time. I was planning to be there from 1.00 pm on Thursday because that will be when the bar opens.

A reminder that the melnet meeting at Sidmouth will be in the downstairs bar of the Rugby Club from 1.00 pm on Thursday. It would be nice to see as many people there as can make it.

Sorry I won't be able to get there tomorrow but thanks very much for the Steady Tunes Workshop Bob - very enjoyable.
I was the one who started Oh Suzannah and then played it too fast - ooops!

Thanks Bob that was a kind offer. Unfortunately I had a few other commitments that day.  Maybe another time. I'm back home in darkest Essex reflecting on my first Sidmouth.   Great festival/horrible journey!!!
