Ollie King at Sidders
« on: August 15, 2017, 11:09:26 PM »

While this forum section is mentioning some festival standouts, I'd like to give an honourable mention to our own Ollie King who turned in some superb accompaniments to the wonderful Rosie Hood.  He made a real statement of 'good taste' accompaniment that complimented her voice and song at The Bedford and The Ham concerts  -  well done that man!

Seconded. I fully agree. I hadn't heard Rosie perform previously, and Ollie's accompaniments added so much. And banjo as well !

Thirded. Lovely sound and very tastefully played. Nothing wrong with a bit of frailing banjo - all the best people play 'em!! ;)

Completely agree. They were so good together I went to see them twice.
Use of the melodeon to accompany singing seems to be on the increase. Or perhaps I just notice it more as it is what I do (as well as play tunes). 😄
