Now I'm home I can tell you it's a two row Hohner, possibly Corso as I can see the remains of an SO transfer on the bottom end. C.C# box ...

Yes, it's an early Corso, and sold by Bell's I see. The model was introduced in 1956, and they were £24/11/5 in 1957 according to my earliest Bell's catalogue.

I see I was right about the key system then, which was still the "normal" one in England in those days, and the only option from Hohner in London, or Bell's...

It all begins with a simple "fancy", and then seeing one which could be a real bargain. I was watching that one, but it wasn't enough of a bargain for me. Mind you, I have developed a "fancy" for a chromatic box; just to try, you understand?

Reeds look clean. Mostly T reeds. Weirdly a couple seem to have been rewaxed and those are only ones with leather valves. The others have good condition nylon valves. Is this right?
Didn't realise it was a 3 voice. Is this a contender for LMM 4ths apart GC
 or is that a waste?

Ideas anyone?

Converting to CF would be slightly less work - the basses will only need small changes.  But of course if you want GC then its worth the extra effort.

Changing from MMM to LMM is more work again and you also need to find a set of low C reeds.  Anything is possible, it all depends on what you would find useful and how much time/effort/money you want to put into what starts off as a cheap box!

What about a 2 voice? Would it matter to the right hand if it was CF or GC? In terms of cost.

Why not try offering it as a swap for a G/C (if that's what you want)? There are some of us who actually WANT semitone-tuned boxes...
