Nothing of the sort, you're just not used to slumming it on Fleabay. (And that's nothing to be embarrassed about!)

I contacted the seller and got the following reply:

Its a Hohner Corona ii melodion so the keys are correct, weve had someone at the 'the accordion company' in Lancashire take a look at it :) thanks for messaging though, All the best, TJ

FWIW I asked Hohner about it, and they replied quite quickly:

Thank you very much for your message. This is indeed strange, because it looks exactly like our Erica.

Though, in 114 years of HOHNER history some strange instruments may have been put on the market. That´s why it´s very often difficult for us to actually make out if it´s a real HOHNER or not. We can only trace it with the serial number of the instrument. Luckily, we have all serial numbers of every instrument ever sold in our books.

Thank you very much for your investigation, and we will also keep looking for this Corona/Erica.

(I don't know how accessible the serial number is on these instruments.)

To the best of my knowledge there isn't a serial number on the normal Hohner diatonics, including the Erica...  ???

Yeah; I passed this on to the seller, who made a friendly reply to say that they weren't sure what it was; perhaps some bespoke instrument.

WOW - sold for £311.00 with very dodgy feedback, and no indication of the key or condition of the box!  ???

I hope the (very determined, judging by their bidding) purchaser won't be disappointed...

Now I'm curious about the outcome. It's ridiculous how much I want to know if this works out well.

Absolutely Correct Gena,  each time you start Bidding you are assigned a random set of letters as identification, these letters will be different when you bid on a different item.

And more than a fortnight later there's still no feedback, neither from seller nor buyer, on it...  ???
