Liliput strap brackets
« on: September 17, 2017, 12:21:27 PM »

Hi fellow melnetters

I'm trying to source some replacement strap brackets for a Hohner liliput - does anyone have any they would like to part with?  These are for the later model of liliput with the 'circles' grille and are the small Hohner v shaped brackets.  Have already checked with CGM -Charlie has small brackets but they do not match the originals which would be preferable, not least from the point of view of reusing the original screw holes.

Does anyone have a pair of the original brackets they'd be prepared to sell me to help restore this lovely liliput to her former glory, 'tis a lovely red D/G conversion, just sadly lacking in the straps department.

Thanks

You might try Microbot. He has many Hohner parts.

There are two or three different designs used on Liliputs.  The more common type has a ring attached to a swivel and has two screw holes.  There is also a miniature V shaped bracket which I think was mainly used on later models.  This type has three screw holes.

Thanks Theo, this one definitely had the v type originally - the base of one strap bracket is still in place.  I'd wrongly assumed these were the standard brackets after comparing the four liliputs and one preciosa currently in the house which all have the same bracket - one of the liliputs is the older shape, the other three the newer.  From memory the preccy is dated around the middle of the production run time and has the same brackets.

Still squeezing after all these years.
Mostly on hohners , with a couple of Dinos and a smattering of anglos - and now a Jeffries duet

I guess I got an oddball then. I have a Liliput with the V brackets but with only two screws.  :o
