Name that Tune
« on: October 01, 2017, 12:09:21 AM »

Hi out there

I am in a funny place where an old tune I learnt years ago has resurfaced - I can remember the A part but not really the B part.
Can anyone help to identify the tune - I would be very much obliged as I would like to get the dots again and re-learn the B part.

I know it is an Irish tune but that is about it.

Here is a link :

Many thanks in advance.............

You can hear it by running it through an on-line YouTube converter.

I can't identify it, though.

I can't figure out how to quit but I will no longer check this group and have deleted all shortcuts to it.

Sounds to me like a good old jig known by a few names:

Larry o'Gaff - http://abcnotation.com/tunePage?a=abc.sourceforge.net/NMD/nmd/jigs.txt/0169
Daniel O'Connell - https://thesession.org/tunes/498

Brilliant !

Yes now the penny drops - it is supposed to be Daniel O'Connell.

Now to learn the 2nd part.

Many thanks - I love this forum !
