Pony Trot Polka.
« on: December 28, 2007, 12:14:31 PM »

Happy New Year All,

I have been scouring the net for ABC or dots for the Pony Trot Polka without success.  Can anyone help?

Regards,

Ralph.

As far as I know, you will not find it on-line anywhere.
The only transcription I know of is the one which I have done for the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust, from the original archive recordings of dulcimer player Billy Bennington.

This forms part of a newly published tunebook "Before the Night Was Out" (yes it's now available! -  I've just received my co-author's copy )  published by EATMT. You can order the book on-line from the EATMT website here.....

Dazbo, of this forum recorded a short video of me playing a version of said polka here...

It's slightly different from Billy Bennington's version, as I learned it mostly from the playing of Katie Howson.

Thanks for the information Steve, I will buy the tunrbook.  If I can eventually play it as good as you do on the video clip I will be well pleased.

Ralph.
