Poll: Tune of the Month for September 2020
« on: August 25, 2020, 08:35:35 PM »

September? Where did that come from? Here's this month's selection

- Machynlleth - Runner up last month by the smallest of margins, traditional Welsh, listen to Steve playing it here: https://soundcloud.com/steve_freereeder/machynlleth , and here's a demo video from Ray Langton: https://youtu.be/4FIRyv8X8V4?t=54

- Gooseberry Bush - nice nomination Helena; this is a John Spiers tune, off the first Spiers and Boden album I think? Great tune, here played by John himself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p44rsBNDwV0 (first tune), and by Helena: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ysOknWU280

- Jenny Lind - I admit to not being a fan of tunes that change key, but this is one I'll happily make an exception for - it's a cracker. Here played by Lester: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ijk0V3QWyDY

- English Schottische - a wild card submission here, played by... me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LF-FZn-PJww ; this tune is written by Dave Chatterley, a gurdy player (and other stuff) who lives in Tring, UK. I think it's a cracker.

Enjoy and vote away!

Cheers,

Clive

Health warning on my Jenny Lind video, seem I learned it arse about face to everyone else in the world. I play the G part as the A music and the D part as the B, no one else does it that way round.
