https://www.facebook.com/events/127951641218616/Multi-talented accordionist, Mel Biggs (Moirai), is joined by the inimitable Dutch musician and actor, Remco Sietsema, in this dynamic diatonic accordion duo.
"A melting pot of English melodies, original compositions and multi-layered rhythmical improvisations. The natural ease with which these two hit it off musically is felt by all who draw near to marvel at their joy and vivacity. Now they want to share that joy with you!"
Remco, from Amsterdam, has a developed a deeply rhytmical style based in world music; working genres like funk, reggae and folk into a completely new and vibrant sound. Working as a musician and actor across the Netherlands; he played the role of Songman in the Dutch version of Michael Morpurgo’s ‘War Horse’.
Mel, based in Derbyshire UK, performs with Anglo-European trio Moirai. Whilst her punchy playing style is firmly rooted in the heart of traditional English dance music, she has spread her musical branches wide and draws inspiration from other Northern European dance styles.
