Tumbling Tom played the tune in 2011 at the annual Kendal Christmas ceilidh - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKeLvU
It makes a good 16 bar schottische

This reminded me of a trip to Yorkshire TV studios in 1987!

This came out of an album of Christmas music "Yuletracks" made by Martyn Wyndham Read, Martin Carthy, Maggie Goodall, John Kirkpatrick & Sue Harris. John and Sue were unavailable for the telly thing so Chris Coe and I were drafted in. I hadn't met Martyn and Maggie before the recording and we had about 30mins to rehearse together before the LIVE performance. Squeaky bottom time.

I was a lot slimmer then but had a great taste in shirts (discuss).

I was a big fan of Martin Wyndham Read............and the others of course ............ but not a fan of the Carol.......

I don't think I could comment on the shirt, apart from its splendid colour, but the audience, well, I suppose they were of their time, if that makes sense...  (:)
