Olsson's Schottis or not?
Bob Ellis:
I learnt the attached tune from a friend, who called it Olsson's Schottis and said that it is Swedish. When I pointed out that I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet under that name, he just shrugged and said that Olsson's Schottis was the name given to it by the person from whom he learnt it in a session. Can anybody throw any further light on the tune. Is the name correct and is it Swedish?
playandteach:
Can't help with tune name, but are you sure about that Em chord? It seems to want an Am one there for me, then two chords, C then D in the next bar.
Sorry for the twist to your question. I like the tune.
Bob Ellis:
As always with melodeon basses, it is a matter of compromising between right-hand fingering and a suitable bass line. I wouldn't use an Am chord there because, while it harmonises well with the C melody note, it doesn't sit as comfortably against the B note. Similarly, using C basses in the first half of the next bar works fine with the initial E note, but not so well with the D note that follows it.

I have a few thoughts but can't actually get the download from your PDF file for some reason. Any other way of attaching it?

Trying a png file.
No criticism meant over chord choice.
