I think there may be some confusion here regarding what Jeff said about Beltuna (Jeff, correct me if I'm wrong)...My understanding was that Denis Pepin had Beltuna make him a D/C# accordion with no bass buttons on the bass end. It was this particular model that Beltuna was unwilling to make again.

In regards to the tuning of Lambert's Acadian, I was only commenting on the fact that it seemed to be drier than what is (or maybe was) standard in Quebec.

Gotcha. I was commenting that the fact that Marc Savoy tends to tune accordions with +15 cents tremelo has nothing to do with Yves Lambert’s Acadian! I totally agree it’s turns drier than typical one row tuning in Quebec. He’s an iconoclast!

I love Frank's sound. He really gets going at the 2:30 mark in this video:

Yes seen him playing many times in St John's! I was going to join them one time just to play along and had a G box with me, his comment "it's like bringing a knife to a gun fight"

mselic, correct... only 2 of the D/C# (with no bass buttons) were made.

It looks like Yves has another one-row in the key of C.  Not sure what the make is, but it looks like it could be another Acadian.  You can see and hear it here:
