Getting away from Stop the Cavalry which I rather like, I've always had a soft spot for the Cherry Tree Carol. The first time I herd it was on a Late Night Band cd Strange Survivals. Sadly none of the versions I've been able to find online contain any free reed input :-\

Mary Humphreys and I do it with Anglo concertina. YouTube example with rather poor sound.
Based on and inspired by a recorded version in which John Kirkpatrick plays Anglo. ("Wassail" ? I might even have the CD somewhere)

A very different version to the Late Night Band but it works well with your more sensitive rendition

Well I have tried to record and share a version of The Holly She Bears a Berry, but I can't get either decent pic's or decent sound. So you'll have to imagine it.
I just don't know how to record onto a PC

Good old Wiki!   ;)

Not a whisper of Rub a Dub. But Rub a Dub is the same tune (without the "home for Christmas" bit. Anyone know who's idea it was to use it for dance?

Ding dong! Here's this month's wintery effort from me; Wassailing and I Saw Three Ships played on a Van der Aa Compact III in G/C (in the key of C).

Happy Christmas everyone...

There's a recording of it on "Caroling & Crumpets".

Not sure if this tune has been used before, (many have), but seems to fit.

Happy Christmas

All the best

That's great Bill!  A much better tune than the one I used to sing in school all those years ago with the obligatory "other" set of words! ;) >:E

Right, I seem to have managed something. Luckily or all and sundry you can't really see me ;)  The noise at the end is the chair squeaking, and not what you think it is.

Love this tune. I know it better as the St Day Carol. The chair is excused.

Mostly on hohners , with a couple of Dinos and a smattering of anglos - and now a Jeffries duet

Lots of fun to see if you can keep up with the ever-growing list!

Just want to share this from our friend ToraderM. who has been seen recently on another thread giving us an example of an accidental workout!

His continual thinking outside the box makes me smile  (:)

Here's my contribution for this month's theme.
It's Snowy Monday by Willie Taylor, first heard played by Anahata.

I've played it on my DG Castagnari Jilly that seems to refuse to leave my hands  (:)

Here's The Snow Day Waltz by David Margolin.
https://youtu.be/UmcgPfZ_yZE

The first recording on my Hohner Morino Club N in Bb/Eb. I kept it simple and slow while I find my way around this giant of a box.  A couple of times through with LMH on the right hand and light chords on the left, then with full organ, LMMMH and octave bass and chords.  This is not a box to throw around with lots of bellows reversals although the reeds do respond well and although most of the weight is in the 5 reed banks on the right, there is still considerable weight in the 12 button left hand with octave reeds. I had to remind myself to play cross rows, use the gleichton and use the reversals on the helper row. I think I even managed a quick F7 chord on the left at one point!

This my first Bb/Eb box and fills in the gap between A/D and C/F.
