Oh ok I had a an early black hohner in once, it appeared to match when I replaced the missing bits.

I think some Hohners have used that aluminium material,  possibly some of the bigger semitone boxes like Amatona.

I think Triskel posted that the Christmas tree grille was used from about 1937 ...

Yes, Hohner's catalogue for the second half of 1937 is the earliest one I've found that grille in, illustrated therein only on the Imperial I, mini 12-bass PA.

Bought one of those recently intending to use it for spare parts, but it's so nice I can't bring myself to scrap it.  Ivory coloured pearloid and nickel plated metalwork.

this is the B/C (converted from C/F) pre Erica that Theo restored for me last year.  It's a lovely box.  Brass grille btw.

when was the latest year it was used - and also when was the 'trichord'  name introduced for the 3 row ??
