Mystery Three Row Fish box
« on: January 31, 2018, 07:08:35 AM »

Hello, I placed a bid on an old Hohner three row with 12 bass keys. I asked the seller which keys the instrument was pitched in, and provided an example photo to help locate the information. The response was FISHE with a photo attached. If I win the auction then a fishe box will arrive in the mail.

Have a great day, Cam

Should play some great tunas.😀

Well netted!  ::)
After it's netted you need to see if it's a keeper.  ;)

A serious question, in this fishy thread!  :o

Why a No. 3777 31/12, from about 1929-30, Nick. (Notice how it has the "modern"-style plastic bass buttons, and hence an all-metal bass mechanism, but the old-style screwed treble buttons, and hence a wooden treble action.)

Edited to add scan of catalogue page:

Thank you kind Sir for identifying the fish. I have been outbid, so we may never know the tuning.

I also like to search eBay (etc) looking for bargains or odd instruments. What I find most infuriating is when it says that it has found 764 items matching the search, and then only show me 426! Why do they do that????
