The Cajun Mardi Gras Song - a tune to learn for "Fat Tuesday"?

(1/1)

triskel:
Seeing that it's Mardi Gras Day, here's the Cajun Mardi Gras Song played on Cajun accordion so y'all can learn it ;): Cajun Mardi Gras Song

And a taste of the day: Cajun Mardi Gras song - Joel Savoy's Faquetaique Mardi Gras 2015

(It'd remind me of "The Wren" on St. Stephen's Day in Ireland.)

Bon Ton Roulay! (Laissez les bon temps rouler/Let the good times roll) - because Lent starts tomorrow!!!  :(

Alternatively - enjoy your pancakes while ye may...

Here's a good version where you can see the fingerwork, by a friend of mine and occasional poster here.  There's a few variations of this song, and it can be played in other positions.  Usually played in A minor if playing on a C accordion, but can also be played in D minor on a C accordion, but you rarely see it.

And actually found a version played in D on a C accordion, by another friend, Mr. Ganey Arsement.  This is the way I originally learned the song, before I knew anything about different positions on the accordion.  I transposed the Balfa Brothers version to notes that sounded kinda right, and ended up here.

Then, there's the "Mardi Gras" jig, played here by accordion master, Chris Miller.  Key of F on a C accordion.
