Cajun accordion gig-bag
« on: February 22, 2018, 04:25:00 PM »

I'm looking for recommendations for a good gig bag that will fit a Cajun-style one-row accordion sitting UPRIGHT. I've heard mention of the Peavey 2K gig bag, but it looks like it may not be available anymore. Also, if anyone has something suitable they are willing to part with, let me know! Thanks.

I use one and they are excellent. Peavey still list them on their website.
Marc Savoy supplies them with his Acadians, so he might have one in stock.

They seem hard to get in the UK. I was interested a while ago but couldn't find a UK supplier.

My box came in a Peavey, but it seems to live more happily - and upright too - in a Fuselli standard (designed for 2-row).

I have the Fuselli SuperPro soft case for a 2-row and the Breton box won't fit in it, upright or on its side. I wonder if the standard Fuselli 2-row bags are bigger or are a different shape?

The Breton box, with the stops in the DOWN position, stands 13" tall.

Both Fuselli models are about the same overall size but the fancy one has more padding and a more slanted top (if that makes sense) so it ends up being less roomy.  The Acadian stands 12-1/2" including the stops and fits just right but 13" might be pushing it.  The Peavey is plenty tall but kind of tight in the other 2 dimensions, plus it opens only from the top so it's a bit of a struggle to get the box in and out.

These guys in Ohio reckon they should be back in stock today, for US $73.98: https://www.parts-express.com/peavey-pv-2k-multi-purpose-utility-bag--248-8754

Ah yes that's a box I've not fitted with a proper container yet, myself - though I've been seeking at the second-hand shops for some time.  Best I've come up with so far is still far less desirable than what ive found for all my other (lrgr) boxes.  Maybe some kind of camera/lens bag would work..

Optimally, I'd like a bag twould hold a couple of 2-rows, and a cajun box.  Rigid sides, bottom, well padded, velcro attached dividers inside...

Would it have to come with a donkey, one wonders?
