Sidmouth Folk Week Absolute Beginners
« on: July 23, 2018, 12:05:14 PM »

Listen up! I’m running the Absolute Beginners Workshops at Sidmouth Folk Week. That’s right, every afternoon from Monday 6th August to Friday 10th inc. These are progressive workshops, so important to start on the first day.

Once again we are at the lovely Kingswood Room at the Devoran and Kingswood Hotel, on the sea front, or Esplanade if you prefer. Nice.

There are two Absolute Beginners workshops running in parallel, just so I can fit everybody in:
Workshop I: 15:30 - 16:15
Workshop II: 16:30 - 17:15

Here’s the good bit. No need to be able to read music! And here’s another good bit, although you will need access to a D/G Melodeon, thanks to Spinningpath Arts CIC, I shall have a bank of about 12 melodeons available for those who would like to give it a try, but do not have access to an instrument.

These shall be allocated by means of a lottery, the forms for which will be available at the Box Office on The Ham. If you are lucky enough to be allocated one, it will be there for you to use at each workshop for the whole week.

This is an ideal opportunity to enter the giddy world of melodeon, so if you have noticed anyone looking on with misty eyed admiration when you play, (as opposed to glassy eyed torpor) then send them to me!

Splendid!
