Castagnari tommy date of manufacture

Trying to date my tommy maple wood block capitals on logo non adjustable bass strap  bass feet are black plastic no info inside bellows has white diamond on front

The white diamond would indicate mid to late eighties.

You might find inside the grill is hand written the month and year..... mine has it there.
A friend had an older one and as Rees says, the bellows puts it in the '80's.

Thanks for that there is no date inside anywhere only no 24 on a lot of parts in pencil which i think is a batch number

Ah.... Ok, that's a shame.
I have a Hasty and a Tommy, both later models, and they gave batch numbers and a date.

I wonder when did they start making the tommy the early ones are a little smaller bass feet were wooden and the treble end shape is diffrent also interested if anyone has any thoughts on this also maple wood used in my one i dont remember seeing any in the past

The Tommy was introduced in the early eighties. Maple was  a choice at that time but later only available in walnut or cherry.
