Thanks again Lester - A friend has just said this is a Morris tune, is that correct?

Well it was written by John Barrett (b c1676; d London, 1719). English composer, organist and music master.

But we dance to Beethoven's Ode to Joy so it could be a morris tune (:)

Not a tune I've ever come across for morris, but as Lester suggests, there's no reason why it shouldn't be used; after all "traditional" morris tunes are just popular tunes of their period (or earlier) pressed into service because they worked as dance tunes and/or the musician happened to know them.  I've played all kinds of junk well-known tunes for morris at various times......

Hello Hugh,
Thanks so much for this, I’m a slow learner but it would be great to try and play it with you at Sidmouth - not long now, looking forward to seeing you. x
