Pokerwork air escaping round pallets?
« on: August 24, 2009, 07:34:15 PM »

I've recently acquired a oldish pokerwork so I don't need to take my Saltarelle out morrising when the weather's wild - which it quite often is where I live.

My problem is that air is getting around the pallets on push and pull. I do have to squeeze reasonably hard to sound the reeds but I can squeeze all the air out of the bellows pretty quick without pressing any buttons. The bellows themselves seem fine.

In general it still plays OK but I'm running out of air very quickly.

Is there anything I can do to try and improve the seal around the pallets?

Send it to Theo for a tune & service.
He'll also sort out the Pokerwork disappearing button trick.
All for a reasonable price - earlier this year, he did my old pokerwork (aged 25+) which is my 'bad weather' morris box.
