Reedblocks?
« on: August 04, 2018, 05:59:33 PM »

Please, can anyone tell me how the treble-end reedblocks will be configured in this thing? I thought possibly 15 and 10, but I've no idea, really. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

My first thought was 'why don't you open it up and have a look?' but then it occurred to me that you probably don't have the instrument in your possession (yet). Another prospective e-bay purchase, I presume...  ;)

Probably not, Steve. He's already refused my offer, which was nowhere near his current asking price (it was originally for sale at £75) and is now far too expensive for me to mess about with. It was just idle curiosity on my part, but it's achingly pretty, don't you think?

I perversely quite fancy one of those. The thought is that a Club mech and fingerboard might fit, to redeem it into the world of melodeonhood.

But likewise, never seen inside one.

I’ve worked on two of these,  but not recently. I think they had two separate creed blocks, but with one of the white notes (F I think) on the black notes block.  Many piano accordions use a similar arrangement.

Really, Malcolm? Whoever else would have thought of that? (Hehehehehe!)
