Québec trad music week
« on: May 18, 2018, 12:32:08 AM »

In lovely Kamouraska, Québec, in the "Bas du Fleuve" region ("Lower St. Lawrence") approx. 4 hours' drive from Montréal.

It's actually 8 days but the calendar can't deal with that, apparently.

Session 1: Sunday 19 - Thursday 23 August
Session 2: Thursday 23 - Sunday 26 August

Come for either session, or both. For more info. see http://www.mareemusique.com/camp-menu

and a post about this year's event: http://forum.melodeon.net/index.php/topic,22345.0.html

In case anybody is wavering, the deadline for registration is Sunday 5 August. With all the accordion talent on the teaching staff, camp no. 2 (final weekend) in particular is going to be a great blast.  http://www.mareemusique.com/details-camp-2

I have just received the schedule for camp no. 2 and in addition to a choice of 3 levels of box classes (2 classes each day for each level), there is an accordion masterclass, a morning impromptu veillée (= québécois ceilidh) workshop and an afternoon Acadian band workshop. And many other goodies including ukulele classes, step dancing classes, swimming and yoga, and not forgetting the evening concert, dance and sessions. And fiddle, guitar and piano classes with excellent teachers.

(If you want to catch Denis Pepin & Susie Lemay, you'll have to sign up for camp 1 instead - or as well.)   8)

Eight Days? A Week?  ;D (Sorry, couldn't resist it!)

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.
