Wm Mittell no.67
« on: August 11, 2018, 05:52:06 PM »

Does anyone have or know of a recording of the above tune no. 67 in the book transcribed by Dave Roberts ?
Alternatively does anyone know what number it corresponds to in the abc  in Chris Partington’s transcription?

Many thanks ,
Caroline

Hi Lester,
Unfortunately that’s not the tune that corresponds to no.67 in Dave Roberts book.  It’s all a bit confusing as there are only 80tunes in Dave Roberts book and they are both titled and numbered, not corresponding to the manuscript numbers - if that makes sense🤣

Tune no. 67 in the book, "Hornpipe", otherwise untitled, of which the first line looks like the attached image?

If that's the one you're looking for, it's on the English Rebellion CD "Four Across" which you can buy online here (see bottom of page). The tune is paired with La Fête de Village, no. 51 in the same book.

PS I could make a YouTube video of it, but can't promise I'll have time before I get home from Whitby Folk Week.

I’ve actually got the Four Across CD so will have to re listen to it but a video of you playing would be very much appreciated when you are able to do it, thank you.

Aha! I was just about to post the same ABC, and thought I'd thereby save you the cost of a CD  ;D
