Must get great pocket money, if he can afford a Casta'. Yet another audience who can't keep the beat, I notice ;)

It seems very similar to Irish youngsters dancing. “All Ireland’s  champion etc” brilliant but with no emotion whatsoever. A little smile or at least a melodeon face would certainly take this out of the boring.

Technically brilliant but with no sign of enjoyment !!  the poor kid looks frankly terrified at times.

At the very end of the performance he gives a smile as he makes his exit. Many people tend to look stony faced while playing, for me it's either concentration and a few mistakes or looking happy with  loads of errors.

Nick, I agree 100%! If you don't enjoy it, don't do it. Same goes for singing, you should try our folk club (South Shields) on a Sunday night. Needless to say, we all REALLY enjoy it, haha!

I think its a bad thing for such a small child to play solo in front of a big audience like that.  Let him sit in with a band or in some other way be part of a larger group of musicians.  He'll have more fun and learn more about playing and performing.  It may be significant that its a good number of years since he has put up another video, so perhaps he worked up the courage to say no to pushy parents.

Probably abhorred at the outset by the audience's ill-timed clapping ... thinking to himself: "This is what it's going to be like..?"   :'(

Yeah, at the outset there is the slightest of smiles as the audience start to clap but as the piece goes on he has to concentrate more and more on trying to keep his timing despite the off-tempo clapping.  Hardly surprising he's almost frowning with the concentration and some of the phrases lose rhythm.  I wonder whether he could actually hear himself by that time!
