Bass buttons on B/C Melodeon (Scarlatti Rosso) - different C major chords
David Blowers:
I've been learning to play the B/C Melodeon (Scarlotti Rosso make) for nearly a year now and have only just noticed something.
The button map I obtained told me that the left hand (bass) buttons had two low Cs and two C major chords on the lower button pairs of the inner and outer rows. Whilst the two low Cs are the same note, I've realised that the the two chords are different.
By ear it seems that the C major chord on the button nearer the bellows is CEG, with middle C as the 1st. The chord on the button away from the bellows sounds 'lower' and seems to be GCE, with the C as the 3rd.
Is this correct? Can anybody confirm or correct my observation?
Thanks
Tiposx:
It is a second inversion. Still a C chord but with a different flavour.
Winston Smith:
I don't think this is uncommon. I'm almost certain that the "C" Dino Baffetti Organetto, which I had for a while, had three different C chords on the left end!

Yes, I understand... but is that normal for a B/C Melodeon?

Thanks... maybe normal then!
