That cheered me up on a gloomy morning ! I wonder if the dots are available on line - I haven't a hope of learning it by ear...but I think it would be a good tune to stretch my abilities far beyond the comfort zone.

I have just started to learn it myself and it is not too difficult to get all the notes in the right order but the rhythm and the speed is probably the greatest challenge for me. Good luck!

Take note (sic) that the C# in the written music does not exist on the box in the video.  It's a plain C natural on the C row.

I've tried it in D so the notes don't drop off the chin end of my DG  :D

I presume the version in G from arty was played on a GC, to enable access to those low notes?
( hence me trying it in D on my DG so I could play those lower sections.... )

In reality I'd use it very infrequently
Saying that, you've just stirred a memory. I have only played one, on a stall at Shrewsbury Festival years ago. It was a *gorgeous*  Loffet Touptit ( I think ) that was simply lovely to play and a sound to die for.
I had to put it down and walk around muttering ' I have no use... I live in DG land' for a long time afterwards until I'd got over it and resisted M.A.D.  ::)
It was a hard time I remember.........

European elk, not moose. Related to the American moose, of course. (In the US elk or wapiti is something quite different, a bit like our red deer). In case anyone is interested...
