Are there two models ..the Corona IIIR and the RS? If so, what is the difference?

Hohner site says

CORONA III R (RS) HH 31 12 3 1/ Tremolo; 5/ Oktav 1963,73,87

Corona 3 says just Tremolo

Never played an RS but I believe the only difference is the fingerboard.

Hi Roger,

From my humble research the R has a weaker coupler mechanism than the RS which has a more modern switch coupler mechanism when pushing those registers down...

I have played a modified Corona III R the box felt nice to me but the guy changed the bulky grill for a regular flushed corona grill which supposedly allows the sound to come out evenly.

I have ordered my Corona III RS i will be able to confirm the differences when it arrives.

Edited....

Here's some photos, without grills, showing the main differences between the Corona IIIR and IIIRS.

I have two of the IIIR. One in red ine in silver glitter.  They are great boxes- and light weight for a three voice.  I have never played an IIIRS but have always felt the IIIR looks better- the only difference being the shape of the fingerboard.

Really great instrument.
