I've not yet clicked on the 'logged' link in the bottom RH corner.

The physical machine this forum lives on has to send pages out to your kit and uses your NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN 'IP address' to do this. NNN are numbers ranging 0-255. Look at your own posts.

The software that runs the forum logs the IP address used for each poster and posting, but only displays yours. 'Logged' just is a cypher to cover the hidden addresses of others. Clicking it gives this explanation in another form

An admin could use the IP log eg to tell that I am posting from work rather than home just now.

But it's more useful whan a rude member has to be banned (not here :o) and then comes back in under a new alias and email address. Running stats on duplicated IP addresses will usually pick this up. I've seen it happen on other forums.

.. so click away.

Hmmm: Curiously the same 'clever' software allows you to report yourself to the moderators!
