Hard case for Pokerwork
« on: January 08, 2019, 11:49:45 AM »

Hello
Anybody know/recommend where I can get a hard melodeon case in the UK? For a Pokerwork...sort of standard sized melodeon.

Rees' hard cases are probably nicer, but the Hohner old-style are around used/NOS here for about US$50 and are pretty good.  No padding but a good shell.  I like the padding on the Hohner backpacks, usually about same price.

Here's a photo of my Wesson Clipper sitting in its hard case as supplied by Rees. The case is excellent.
(and the melodeon is superb!)  (:)

I have seen Hohner cases  listed on US eBay for $50 but postage to UK +$60  :o
soft gig bags are good to but not always 'safe' for transporting boxes, for UK market I think it's good to have a few in stock.Charlie's hard cases are little bigger I think.

The Hohner case is nice because it is tiny, like a Lilly case.  Not padded like Rees' case, tho!

Thanks Steve.
I don't have many spare so they won't be appearing on my website.

Maybe Steve C. is subtly suggesting you build your own case.... A reciprocating saw might come in handy >:E

Roger/Malcolm:

Building one's own case would be nice, but I was thinking this one: might be a little big, but not by a lot.
I have a different one in the same series and they are pretty solid.  Not Pelicans/Storms/Nanuks/SKB but decent.
Another possible for Pokerworks, if available your side of Pond, are the some of the DeWalt/Bosch/Rigid/etc. powertool boxes (look on Kaizen foam' website).  Some are pretty good size and decent price.

https://www.amazon.com/Plano-108031-Pistol-Accessories-Black/dp/B0029KDHT0/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_3_sspa?keywords=Plano+108031+AW+XL+Pistol%2FAccessories+Case+Black&qid=1547990946&sr=8-3-fkmrnull-spons&psc=1

BTW, the Nanuk 940 is a really nice case; depending upon the color, they can sometimes be found at serious discount.  But now we are talking 2x the price of the plainer ABS cases/boxes.
