This just in:
Rogue's March https://youtu.be/f0ApSVk9deU

Love that, but I never realised it was a song.

Thank you, Petes and Greg!

Love that, but I never realised it was a song.
Amusingly, I knew this song more than a decade before my interest in English music began.
It appears in one of the early Sharpe movies http://hicketypip.tripod.com/Songbook/rogues.htm although I first heard this song by itself and only then checked where it's from. My opinion of the movies themselves is probably best kept for another topic :)
This is also a nice sung version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaplEF4w9RY

Do you have a Hohner from 1934-1945 with a serial number on?
Send me a private message or comment on the German Accordion Problem spreadsheet to improve the statistics of the project and get an estimate of the production date of the box if it is not known.

Thank you all - some great stuff this month! On to the next theme; as ever stick late contributions on the end of this one - no problem.

This just in:
Rogue's March https://youtu.be/f0ApSVk9deU

Kirkpatrick et al did a jolly version on the Umps and Dumps album and sang a verse and a chorus at the end. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJnG33gkmqs

Great playing, Eshed - that tune is definitely on my list to learn someday!

Video sadly unavailable...as a sideline I've heard the tune called "Twenty I got" in some areas...presumably from the first line of the song... :|glug

Did you know it's the tune that was used to drum dishounourably discharged soldiers off the army post?

Now I do, although it sounds like a terrible chore for the band.
"Uhm, guys, there's a trial for Lieutenant Hopkins on Wednesday, so I need two bugles and a drum on call in case they throw him out. Any volunteers?"

Thank you Jesse!

^^^ Now that one doesn't work for me! Must be a regional block, but funny that there's a video for each region and yet we're not allowed to view the other one.

I find the following very moving, and it's performed here by our very own (fabulous) Brian Peters.
