(The club is a non-profit-making organisation run by unpaid volunteers)
COHEN BRAITHWAITE-KILCOYNE MELODEON WORKSHOP
htpps://cohenbk.com

Saturday 13th. April 2019  10.45 a.m. - 4.45 p.m.
Elephant & Castle White Hill Lewes BN7 2DJ

Cohen is a young, brilliant & inventive melodeon & anglo concertina player & a glorious singer with a deep understanding of traditional music & a powerful, compelling style of his own. He’s in great demand at folk music festivals & clubs as a solo performer & with the trio Granny’s Attic. Cohen loves to share knowledge & ideas & is a fine teacher.
The workshop will focus on English melodeon playing for experienced players. Cohen will begin by delving into the rich repertoire of English traditional tunes and will explore how advanced melodeon techniques can be used to develop these tunes. Finally, Cohen will explore the melodeons capabilities as an accompanying instrument both for accompanying song and for accompanying other musicians. Some music will be sent out in advance.

Cohen is amazing. If you haven't seen him live I would urge you to do so, seriously, seriously impressive stuf.  Lewes is also well worth a visit and the folk club peeps are just lovely - and of course, Harvey's.  Also recommended is Housedean farm for camping - really nice site just off the South Downs Way, good facilities, really large pitches, firepits on each pitch and a bus from pretty much outside the campsite to central Lewes.

An outstanding player, I have seen him a couple of times and he just gets even better! Unfortunately it is a bit far from North Yorkshire to Lewes :-[

A very very talented and charming young man. Those who live nearby or can travel would have a fabulous time in this workshop.  (:)
