Recorded using a single large diaphragm condenser. I've learned that for my voice, at least, I get a better, more balanced result with my mic at eye or forehead high pointing the mic diaphragm at my eyes rather than my mouth, not least because the sibilants are under better control. Try it... You might be surprised how well it works.

And if it's a cardioid, having the mic at forehead height but aimed at my eyeballs pick up some melodeon.

Thanks Gavin, I enjoyed listening to your jaunty song to start the day. The balance between voice and melodeon sounded just right to me.
