Recorded about 18 months ago but a tune I never get bored of. The Abbess:

Absolutely lovely!  Well done.

Special Reserve by XIM .. always a favourite of mine.
I don't know what happened to the volume on this one but I apologise if it's too quiet.

Oh Ellison, I could listen to your playing all day long!
Ever thought of making a CD? 😊

Thank you for the nice comment.
Yes, I've thought of it for years but held back by too many issues.

I checked your channel uploads and cannot find it either.  Maybe YT  housecleaning inadvertently swept it up...

No it doesn't !

That's just lovely.

I really like the way the sparing accompaniement doesn't overpower the melody.

Thanks for posting that ,Sir John and thanks to others for the kind words.
This tune should be played on the posh box because it’s usually played in D.
I just got done finishing the rebuild of this hohner and I believe i just got it back after spot tuning, so I was giving it some love 8)

Slow burn tunes! Some tunes need time to get into your head. These two both needed a year after first hearing them in sessions before I was able to get anywhere with them. Perhaps in a few more years and a lot more work I will make a better job of them :Ph

'The Flowers of Ashgill' by Jack Dodd. Played in AB form, in low C on a GC pressed wood. This box doesn't have a 'low note' at the bottom of the inside row, which would have helped at times. The tune turned up at a recent local session (in G).

All the best

My version of a tune that I learnt from Phil Taylor, my hammer dulcimer playing friend, called Trip to Pakistan written by Niall Kenny. I found Pakistan a fascinating country when I went trekking there, full of chaos and contrasts, and I've tried to put a bit of that into the piece.
Played on my DG Mory, no low register on the treble end, and the thirds out on the bass end.
