Re-reading your original post, I am impressed by your Early Onset MAD, by the way.  One thing I would suggest is that you get your C#/D box fettled so that your instrument can become a friend you can you can work with, rather than fight. It will make a big difference to your enjoyment level and will  speed up your learning.

My fettling journey is what started it all and I'm really enjoying the tuning process but I have a lot to learn as well on that front. I have this stupid notion that I have to tune this instrument to a playable standard before I start my playing process. It's really close for my liking. I'm pretty sure that once I really start playing that I'll start tuning all over again.
