White Horse Polka
« on: April 13, 2019, 08:05:26 AM »

I am trying to learn this tune from a recording clip of a recorder playing it. Does anybody play it on the melodeon so I can get a proper feel for the tune.

There's a video on youtube of the White Horse Polka played by Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen with plenty of oom-pah going on. Is that the tune you're after?

PS: I enjoyed the way you dissed recorder players in favour of anybody playing melodeon, who'd naturally have a "proper feel for the tune". Funny on a couple of different levels  ;)

There must be another tune this side of the pond with the same name. I'll have to find out who composed it. It was a very good recorder player, I would just like to hear it with the bass at full chat.
